  • National Anthropological Museum acquired status in March 21, 2007. The exhibition presents in historical aspect, cultural practices relating to the manner of burial in various historical periods, and ritual healing effect left traces on the bones of people and physical types comprising the population inhabited Bulgarian lands during different epochs.

  • Museum includes exhibits from Prehistoric and Thracian civilization in our lands; the Medieval Bulgaria and from the second half of the XIX c. A. D. - the leaders of the Bulgarian National Revival.

  • The museum exposition presents anthropological types of the people inhabited Bulgarian land from ancient times to the present days. Information about specific individuals- sex, age, race, height lifetime, pathology, treatment, ritual influence and plastic anthropological reconstruction of the soft tissues of the head by the skull, visualization images of people who lived in different epochs in Bulgarian lands.

    For tours in English/French language are available at extra cost 58 lv.
    Every last Saturday of the month visits are free for all categories of visitors without lectures.
